In January of 2004, Hofstra University successfully completed a migration of its production ERP system, moving from the SunguardSCT Banner® 5 to Banner® 6 production environment. This was an involved and complex migration involving not only an upgrade of the application code, but a migration to a new SUN hardware platform, Solaris 9 operating system and an Oracle 9i database as well. Six months of intensive planning and testing were required to ensure the successful execution of the migration effort.
To assist in the Oracle database migration component, Nyquest consulting was engaged by Hofstra University early in the process. Possessing great insight and experience with the Banner® environment as well as the Oracle backend database, Nyquest contributed greatly in the detailed planning of the data migration effort. Nyquest was invaluable in the successful completion of the migration, at all times extremely accommodating, working closely with our internal team to support a tight conversion schedule. Nyquest support was always timely and clearly understood the need to minimize downtime to our user community. Nyquest was extremely professional at all times, always available with little notice for technical and planning discussions. Offering support both remotely or on site, Nyquest was reliable and met all stated deadlines and requirements per our demanding specifications. Nyquest worked around the clock to migrate all data successfully within a 24 hour window. Overall, we feel strongly that due to Nyquest's skill and expertise, downtime was kept to a minimum and the migration was successful.
The post migration period went very smoothly. All follow up issues were addressed quickly and expertly. We continue to engage Nyquest on an ongoing basis for updates and enhancements. As a result of their high quality service, Nyquest has become a valued, cost effective partner and a great addition to our technical team.
