Oracle Security Patches for October 2005
In October, Oracle released its Security Patches for both the RDBMS AND Application server.
These patches fix recent security holes that have been identified. Note that these patches
are mandatory. They should be installed on all systems, especially Production environments.

Note that Metalink Login is required.
Unfortunately, this time around, the RDBMS version of the patch, when installed, will de-install another critical patch, p4080972 which is required for Banner®
The workaround for this is to get a merged version of the RDBMS patch and patch 4080972.
This is patch number p4735715 and is now available for most operating systems.
These Patchsets can be downloaded from the Oracle Metalink site.

Database Server (Upgrade to 9.2.0.6 before applying the PatchSet)
| Due to the issue with the RDBMS patchset rolling back Patch 4090872, do not download the individual patchset. Instead download patch p4735715 which is the merged patchset of the October CPU AND 4080972.
